From April 8 to 10, Encory was represented with its own booth at the renowned Rematec trade fair in Amsterdam – the world’s leading platform for remanufacturing. The fair attracted professionals from over 80 countries, working in the aftermarket sector as well as in areas such as electric vehicles, battery packs, and sustainable manufacturing, all connected to the remanufacturing of parts and components. Encory used this platform to present innovative solutions and sustainable concepts that shape the future of the remanufacturing industry. In addition to Encory’s consulting services for the circular economy, this year’s focus was on the new reman brand Encory Premium Reman Parts for BMW for the independent aftermarket. On the second Rematec day, CEO Alexander Maak gave a lecture in the Rematec Theatre on the opportunities presented by the new end-of-life vehicle regulation for the circular economy and future business models in the automotive sector. This lecture provided valuable insights into the current developments and opportunities arising from the new regulation.

The Birkenfeld Institute of Technology presented its current project ZirkulEA, which focuses on the disassembly of batteries. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Vette-Steinkamp reported on the use of AI and robots in non-destructive disassembly, opening up exciting perspectives for efficiency and sustainability in this area.
The panel discussion “Eco Design to Enable Remanufacturing” explored whether new market regulations are necessary to further advance the topic of eco-design. This discussion highlighted the importance of environmentally friendly design for the future of the remanufacturing industry.
Valeo also provided insights into the challenges in the remanufacturing sector to combat climate change. Their approaches and solutions demonstrated the importance of developing innovative and sustainable methods to reduce the ecological footprint.
