A transfer case in BMW all-wheel-drive vehicles distributes engine power to the front and rear axles to ensure even power delivery to all wheels. Its construction includes a housing that contains gears, shafts, and chains, which work together to transfer torque to the axles as needed. The transfer case ensures optimal power distribution, resulting in improved traction and stability under varying driving conditions.
During the remanufacturing process of a transfer case, it is first inspected for oil residues and previous product markings are removed. The housing is then cleaned using specialized methods, such as sand or granulate blasting. Following this, the transfer case is disassembled and all components designated for replacement are removed. In the next step, all previously removed parts are replaced with brand-new original components. Finally, the Encory transfer case is reassembled, filled with oil, and tested on test benches to ensure full functionality.
